I, like many others, was drawn in by the star power of having Consadine on the cover. Sadly he is not in the film that much and with his screen time, not worthy of having just himself on the cover. That is the clever trick by the marketing and production team, I'd imagine.
It's a good story however and had he not been on the cover, I would have bypassed it (so, job done to said teams).
The film is edited out of order and what we have is the end of the story first and then we slowly learn how events unfolded, prior to what we have seen. I'm not sure it really does the film justice and I've not made up my mind as to whether it would look and play better, in chronological order.
Consadine is mean, menacing and cuts an evil presence and why he hasn't been cast in a big film as a villain is beyond me.
The film has a true story to tell, using the sad events of honour killings by devout religious families and though it doesn't take an exact story to the narrative, it's none the less shocking.
