Appreciated that this didn't trivialize eastern spirituality — in doing so, it takes seriously not just the wisdom of these traditions, but also its subjects' search for meaning and healing. At the same time, there's not nearly enough depth here to really recommend it, at least not anything as more than as some decent background noise while working out or scrolling a second screen. Whether it's the spiritual, the personal or the lurid, it all feels quite surface-level and not particularly well-observed.
