Dekalog

I spent the last couple months watching this series. I ended up loving it more than I thought! This is my favorite work I’ve seen from Krzysztof Kieslowski yet. The way he told these stories was so good. I loved how all the episodes were based on the Ten Commandments. And you can definitely tell with the themes such as religion, adultery, greed, murder, etc. I was invested in knowing about the characters and how they deal with the situations they were in. There were a couple episodes I didn’t like, but there really isn’t a bad episode. Each one was unique. I also loved the cinematography, color grading and the score. That theme was amazing and I wish I can listen to it often! I definitely want to own this set at some point. I’d love to revisit this series and also check out A Short Film About Love and A Short Film About Killing. I’m so glad I gave it a shot! Emily, I don’t know if you’d watch this series, but I’d love to know your thoughts on it and how it represents the Ten Commandments! I hope you (and maybe Colin, too) give it a watch!
