Summertime

It is often easier said than done when you're faced with the choice of following your heart or staying true to your family name and the culture in which you were raised. Perhaps we all long to be the perfect daughter—the one every parent is eternally grateful for. But this world we live in can be cruel. How does someone’s perception of a person change so drastically after discovering who their heart longs for? After all, she is still the same person—the same daughter you loved and raised. My heart goes out to all the Delphines in the world—those who choose to stay and hide who they are. May you find the courage to leave and follow your heart one day. You deserve to love openly and freely, without the fear of being seen as different. This film was so beautifully written and directed. It managed to tell the story of so many unheard voices. Easily a five star rating for me.
