Frankenstein
"In seeking life, I created death"
oh guillermo del toro this was absolutely everything ever.
*"in you, I have created something truly horrible."
"not something. someone."*
the novel by mary shelley was made to be adapted by guillermo del toro because I fear I will never get over this, ever. the novel itself is called frankenstein because the monster is frankenstein himself, victor frankenstein. the "monster" is never given a name.
"you gave me life unwanted. I give it back to you. you thought me a monster. now I return the favour."
when the film flipped into the creatures perspective, I fear I may have backflipped out of excitement, this is exactly my type of movie--I love it when you have two contradicting opinions and two different perspectives, the contrast and conflict created through this film is absolutely breathtaking.
I love the hauntingness of the creature himself, I mean the way the cinematography and camera work captures the creature really adds to the illusion of a monster, the stills of him standing, stalking, just watching victor.
don't ever chat to me about the blind man okay? okay. my sister and I went on a whole tangent about it already I do not need to talk about them again they genuinely make me so ill. the fucking head pat shit? get the fuck off my timeline don't even joke lad.
