Nosferatu
HE DOESNT FUCKING MISS.
An incredible horror movie and probably the best vampire piece of media I've ever seen.
Completely loved it all, from the conventional horror to the unconventional and deeply uncomfortable things.
This movie i believe will be very divisive and alienating to some, but great art should always be pushing the boundaries of the medium.
A great representation of gypsy/romani people and Romanian people speaking Romanian! Also a great hint/inclusion of Hunedoara Castle. As a Romanian you just love to see it
They gave Nosferatu a moustache and that made it immediately movie of the year.
Fantastic acting, directing, writing and cinematography. Edgers cements himself as a generational talent.
The set design, costumes were just perfect and the use of colour and shadow was a genius homage to Murnau's directional style. The practical effects were stellar and really gross and very effective.
Nicholas Hoult is increasingly becoming a stamp of a good quality performance as well as Emma Corrin. Willem Defoe is my favourite actor and he doesn't disappoint.
Now I put this film as a 5 but there are two points that I think could have been better, that being, im not certain Count Orlok should have spoken as much as he did as it made him more dracula than the monster nosferatu is. Lily Rose Depp also does a superb job however I do believe her acting is still needing to be refined (for example the cemetery scene with Emma Corrin).
Also the final shot of Ellen sleeping with death and life triumphing over even in death is really beautiful.
We are living in a golden age of cinema.
