So wonderful, slowly becoming a comfort film, masterfully constructed, cooking up some ramen as i type this, etc… Glad I kept the Blu-ray hanging around. I cried listening to the homeless wine snob describe his favorite Bordeaux and im not exactly sure why lol. I still cried during all the usual spots (and it’s a goddamn comedy for Christ’s sake, food seemingly makes me very emotional as someone who has experienced such decadent food security throughout my life), this just felt like a very different watch, a much more somber watch despite its conclusion. We don’t know a lot about ourselves, but we know what we need, and the struggle to provide these needs is eternal, so eternal that it penetrates into every aspect of social life.
