Sinners
This movie is easily the best movie of 2025 so far. It really does everything and they do it great. The stunt of having Michael B Jordan play twins and share the same screen work so well that you forget for a second that they really aren't two separate people. I love how both Smoke and Stack each have very unique and powerful stories. You genuinely are intrigued by both and Michael B Jordan I believe solidified himself as a top star with this movie. Also incredible performance from Hailee Steinfeld. While she already broke out as a star, this movie makes her an actual movie star (Josh Allen I hate you a little right now).
Now onto the actual movie, it hits all the themes really well. it truly nails the metaphors of how white people have stolen African American culture and claimed it to be theirs while also being a kickass vampire movie. The humor is truly funny and the emotional scenes hit hard. Coogler is really putting himself into elite status with this movie. The scene of having Sammie rock the show and having the multiple decades of black musicians party with the people in spirit was one of the coolest scenes I've seen. This is the spiritual sequel to Get Out but more badass and fun.
