Normal People
i think the highest praise i can possibly give a piece of art is that it made me feel something, and feel it deeply... and needless to say this did that and more. part of me wants to attribute this to my having been stuck inside with limited human contact for so long now, but a larger part of me realizes that this would have felt the same in any given time. truly, deeply romantic in a rare way that sticks with you long after it's over, and makes you wary of a rewatch because you're afraid the magic will be gone the second time around. i haven't felt this way about something i've watched in a while, and i doubt i can expect it again any time soon, but for now i'm thankful for this bright, sad, hopeful, devastating piece and what it means to me.
