Close-Up
Close-Up teaches us about how important and imperative art is. The main character walks through life without the resources for making a film, and only has the ideas and the motive. He tries his best to do as much as he can with the little he has. The key theme isn't solely about wealth vs poverty, but instead about who appreciates art vs who doesn't. The film doesn't criticise those who don't care for art, as seen from the taxi driver at the beginning who respects and focuses on his job instead, but instead it gives a voice to those in society who desire a chance for creation yet cannot.
