Phantom Thread
Yes, PTA has great films, everybody is aware of that, and most people are aware of the greatness of this film. But still… this isn’t just one of the greatest films of the last decade, but one of the greatest of all time.
One Battle After Another is great, and the hype around it is great for cinema culture as well. But people listing this film right behind There Will Be Blood, or even calling it PTA’s best work, without having witnessed this piece of art, is outrageous.
This film is so fucking underestimated, and it is the most beautifully shot film ever.
The performance of Vicky Krieps is one of the best female performances of all time and for sure the best performance not nominated for an Oscar. Such an outrageous injustice, this robbery! And with all due respect to Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, this is the real Best Picture of that year.
**As I said before, and I’ll say it again: this is the most beautifully shot film ever.
