I am proudly blinded by nostalgia but I’m pretty sure this is unironically peak

That last scene is genuine chills

This is actually great

My god genuinely this is exactly the film we needed right now. This is marvel working at not only their absolute best but better than they have ever been before. This movie is so visually pleasing and the effects are just wonderful. The action is superb and the best we have gotten in a live action superhero movie ever. But the best part of this film is the heart like this thing genuinely had me tearing up. It has some genuinely interesting points about men’s mental health and depression that are tackled in a way that it isn’t pushed or shoehorned in. The characters are absolutely great all around (yes even tom hollands performance was quite terrific). Zendaya as MJ was great as always and Jacob Batalon is hilarious as Ned once again. Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle was a brilliant addition and he provided a mentor roll to Peter that was just so fun to watch. Sadie Sink as Jean Grey was also great and it made me so excited for an MCU X-Men film. This is for me the film that Superman was to everyone last summer, it’s just so fun and its themes of kindness and mental health just work so well on every front. As someone who used to read comics religiously this scratched every itch for a faithful spider man adaptation. So yes I’m giving a marvel film a 5/5 in 2026 and I’m proud of it.
