Elemental
Pixar Cry Counter: 12
I definitely thought this was a step in the right direction for Pixar compared to the last couple film I saw.
The whole elements living together thing is just right in Pixar’s wheel house kinda give me inside out vibes honestly.
As for the story I think it’s alright and I’m kinda surprised it took so long for Pixar to make another romance film. They haven’t made many but they tend to do well when they do.
I think visually this is pretty good, but the story is a little bland the whole kid trying to be their father thing is used a ton, and I felt also the dad being against what the daughter wanted to do was rather predictable and overused in storytelling.
However I do think this is a solid movie, and at the time when I first saw this I thought Pixar was about to start a new era of really good films. However I haven’t seen any of the next films they made so I guess I’m about to find out whether they did hit that new great era or not.
