Saving Private Ryan

I need to experience this in a theater one day. The opening 20 minutes are still some of the most brutal filmmaking I’ve ever witnessed. Spielberg throws you straight into the chaos without ever making it feel sensationalized. It’s overwhelming in the best and worst way imaginable. Idk how I didn’t realize this was almost 3 hrs long. The pacing is so masterful that the runtime completely disappears. This might be my favorite war film ever made.
