The Odyssey
Christopher Nolan continues to amaze me. I was already familiar with the story, having read the poem in eighth grade like probably everybody else did, but seeing Nolan bring it to life on this scale was something else. The Odyssey is easily one of the most ambitious films I’ve ever seen, and the sheer scale of it left me in awe. Nolan takes this massive story and tells it in a way that feels completely his own while still making it easy to follow and get lost in.
The entire cast delivers, the visuals are incredible, and Ludwig Göransson’s score might be my favorite work of his yet. It perfectly complements the film and makes both the action and emotional moments hit even harder. I was completely immersed from beginning to end.
And of course, Nolan knows how to stick the landing. The ending was the perfect conclusion to such an epic journey. Seeing this in IMAX 70mm made the experience even more special. It genuinely felt like I was witnessing something monumental unfold right in front of me.
A colossal achievement. The Odyssey is something special.
