The Shining

Not sure why I decided to start this at 1 a.m., but I’m glad I did. Even after seeing The Shining before, it still had me hooked from beginning to end. The atmosphere is so creepy and unsettling. Kubrick has a way of making every shot feel important, and the Overlook Hotel feels just as scary as any character in the movie. I was still on the edge of my seat even though I knew what was coming. The final 25 minutes are absolutely butt clenchingly tense and had me holding my breath the entire time. I can’t wait to watch this again around Halloween. Stanley Kubrick was a genius. One of the greatest filmmakers to ever do it.
