The Proposal
This movie is my ultimate comfort movie.
I’ve been struggling to put into words how I feel about this movie for a long time but I’ll try my best, be ready for this to be a sentimental review.
In my eyes(since it just resonates so much with me),this movie is flawless. It isn’t lacking in any department, actually it reaches perfection in all categories.
By how many times I have watched this movie I can say I know most of the lines by heart—but guess what,I NEVER get TIRED of them. I truly think it’s impossible to get tired of this movie,
I mean come on—did you see those storylines, vibes, and don’t get me started on the face cards that Sandra and Ryan bring to this movie(even though that’s not why this movie is amazing)
Margaret and Andrew are exactly my type of couple, conversations full of sarcasm, but at the same time they develop this really deep connection and understanding of each other. It’s just wonderful to watch them do that
The development of emotion showed in this movie is at a great pace, the story isn’t rushed, and it isn’t superficial. The film gives you a chance to connect with the characters and love all of them by how iconic they are(especially grandma Annie)
Margaret Tate for me is a character that hits REALLY close to home.I relate to her in so so many ways. She always puts up this wall to avoid being hurt, but she truly is a sentimental bitch. Honestly I can’t even say all our similarities by how many they are. Like we do our make up the same way, have the same level of sarcasm, love books, have the same taste in clothes and many other stuff.
She is a carrier oriented woman, who WANTS to succeed in life, and with her ambition of course she succeeds. And on top of that she gets a man who is at her level and would die for her.And that’s all I ever want to be.
Also can we talk about how this movie is directed by Anne Fletcher who also directed 27 dresses and Step Up??? That woman never misses when it comes to romcoms
