“No Longer In the Mood For Love”
Years have passed after the events of Wong Kar Wai’s previous film In the Mood for Love. 2046 continues the story of Chow. While he may be the same character he no longer feels recognizable as the same person. If ‘In the mood for love’ explores a sultry romance without much of the sexual aspect, then 2046 does the reverse. In turn the film feels colder and lonelier.
We chase our own ghosts in a endless purgatory, trying to recapture the nostalgia of the past.
