This is like the perfect dad movie. Heat was so ahead of its time, it reminded me of a film made in the 2010s by the way it was shot, and whats crazy it is was made in the 1990s. It still had those aspects of old school cinema such as the long drawn out tension, and its not super flashy or over stylized. It also made me realize that Al Pacino and De Niro are real saucy. The dinner scene alone makes this film amazing. Its so calm and quiet, but packed with intense layers of tension. It could of been like 90 minutes shorter tho, it does drag out in the 2nd act. That being said it still is the heat movie, doesn't really do a lot different, but serves as the blueprint.

"Your like the isreali Iron Dome Defense system but for cocks instead of missiles."

This film perfectly captures what modern sci fi should look like. The idea that language can rewire how you think, and even how you experience time, makes this film so fascinating. The idea of aliens not thinking in straight lines like us, but rather in circles, meaning that they see time all at once is such a unique take on this genre. What really elevates this film, is how it uses this concept to tell a deep grounded emotional story about love, loss, and choice. The fact that Louise saw into her future, saw that she'll have a daughter who will ending up dying in the saddest way, but she still choses to live that life, makes this film incredibly emotional. The only criticism I personally have is that this movie has no color at all, this movie was as grey as interstellar, without going to space. Also if you aren't into slow burn movies this is not a good watch, its very slow but it is worth it.
