Light Light Light
As someone from Finland it’s often surprisingly hard to find domestic films that truly have an impact on me, but Light Light Light is absolutely one of them. In fact, it’s one of the best Finnish films I’ve ever seen. It shows very honestly the struggles people face without a safe adult to rely on also including the alcohol related problems that are common in Finland and that quietly shape the characters lives. What really hit me was how the warm, summery atmosphere brought back strong Call Me by Your Name vibes. That same blend of softness, tension and melancholy. The whole film feels sincere and beautifully done and there’s a calm emotional weight to it that lingers in a more personal way rather than just fading afterward. A moving and thoughtfully crafted piece of cinema.
