The Shining
Stanley Kubrick proves he's a master of cinema with The Shining. His direction is precise and deliberate, and the camera work is amazing. Those long, creeping shots through endless hallways. Pulls you straight into the nightmare. This film gave me one of the scariest and most thrilling experiences I’ve ever had. Jack Nicholson is intense in a way that feels both terrifying and mesmerizing, and Shelley Duvall's fear feels so real it’s hard to watch and impossible to look away. Their performances might be the best the horror genre has ever seen. The Shining doesn’t just scare you. It locks you inside its world, and when it finally lets you go, part of you is still wandering in those halls.
