X-Men: First Class

CLASS film. Fr tho. Has no right to be this good for a superhero movie. The political history in this, is so well explored and they merge it well with the allegories of oppression and being different in society and the feeling of needing to hide. So brilliant. I could also write a whole essay on how beautiful and heartfelt Erik and Charle’s ‘friendship’ is. “There’s more to you than you know, not just pain and anger.” My heart 😭💔 Their chemistry is something else. Only thing I will say, I’m annoyed they killed the only black guy off, he could have been a really cool character. Edit upon rewatch: Every time I watch this film I love it and appreciate it even more!! The world building, the dialogue, the foreshadowing and callbacks! All of it, such a well constructed and engaging film!! Very stylised too! Honestly think I’m gonna give it 5 stars this time.
