But out of nowhere comes Joyland such a bold, devastating film that handles complex characters, systemic patriarchy, and the sexuality of women in a conservative society. It fearlessly explores queer characters, complicated relationships, cheating, and suicide.
Sadly, the best modern Pakistani film was banned in Pakistan.
