Far from the Madding Crowd

I desperately need a Gabriel Oak. I absolutely do not understand how this woman who was so set on being independent and never getting married, who also had two men that would give her everything after her, chose to marry a man who wouldn't want her, wouldn't love her and would only use her. Also, absolutely love the scene where the sun shines in between the two main characters in a period romance set in England. Has to be one of my favorite things in movies.
