The Devil's Advocate
al pacino = GREATEST MOVIE
im about to change my top 4 omg, every time i watch an al pacino film i want to change it.
this it left me speechless and not just because of cheap horror tricks or action packed scenes BUT because of its deep, twisted, and thought/provoking storytelling. This film isn’t just about a lawyer and a flashy job in New York it’s a psychological descent into temptation, morality, and the true cost of ambition.
From the very beginning, I was pulled in by the character of Kevin Lomax, played by Keanu Reeves. (HE LOOKS SO HOT HERE BTW) who has never lost a case.
What I appreciated the most about this film is how it slowly unravels, and it doesn’t rush into the supernatural, Instead, it carefully shows how Kevin’s life begins to fall apart his marriage, his morals, his sense of self. Charlize Theron delivers a heartbreaking performance as Mary Ann, Kevin’s wife, whose mental breakdown is just as disturbing as it is tragic. She becomes a symbol of everything Kevin is sacrificing, and her scenes genuinely got to me. They weren’t just scary they were painful. The movie explores so many deep themes: free will, ambition, pride, temptation, sin. It forces you to ask yourself how far you’d go for success. What would you give up to win every time? Your happiness? Your family? Your soul?
ANDDD al pacino’s performance is unforgettable (as always) and the entire film stays with you long after the credits roll.
If you’re into stories about morality, temptation, and the darker side of human ambition, this movie will hit you hard :)
