Interstellar
I think most of the time I feel worse when I consider pursuing greatness for my own sake. But in a strange way, I’m finding comfort in the idea that my greatest achievement may ultimately be outside of myself.
This movie pushes me to think that being in the service of others will make me whole, even when the lengths to which that service will demand of me will break my heart. In the end, I’m excited to sacrifice myself, to give up my time for the betterment of someone I haven't even met yet, and in the end be the best version of myself in every present so that I can be a worthy memory for my child’s future. That kind of love, as this movie proved, triumphs even our need to breathe.
