what can i say? i spent most part of the movie sobbing uncontrollably. there were moments which literally broke my heart so i am going to just point them out, instead of reviewing the movie as a whole, because i think there are a lot of people out there who can do it better than me. so let's start.
after rémi's death, when he goes to a friend's house to have a sleepover and they sleep in the same bed. so he basically realises it was a normal thing to do with your friend and that he shouldn't have had to stop doing so with rémi.
the fact that every single character's reactions are so valid and realistic. léo taking his time to let it out and grief, the dad crying at dinner time, the mom shouting at léo and telling him to get out of the car, the other mom telling his son that his bestfriend is not with them anymore.
before highschool, léo helping rémi to fall asleep, telling him to imagine that he is the prettiest yellow duck, and also encouraging him to believe in himself when it comes to playing the clarinet. he literally was holding him without realising.
tha fact that he feels guilty about it. how is he suppose to go on with his life like that? like, imagine how can that affect him when he overthinks over everything, like his classmates comments.
rémi crying while punching léo in the playground. ouch. and also when they're having breakfast after having fought over sleeping in separate beds or in the same.
the fact that the director is so smart when it comes to key sequences. like, the mom shouting to his son that he can't close the bathroom door and, later on, the sequence in which we can see the bathroom lock completely destroyed.
i could say a lot more, but i am going to let it be this way.
