Happy Together
OMFG this movie is powerful.
it actually scared me; seeing a person so devoted for other one who doesn't deserve it one bit is totally frustrating. i mean, the egoism of ho po-wing is pretty obvious. he needed desperately a roof and someone to take care of him and he got it without returning the favor.
my poor lai yui-fai, always there for him. but, the thing is that he felt the happiest during that period of time of his life. as he says at the end "i felt very sad. i felt like there should be two of us standing here" like, man. how is possible that he still cares about ho po-wing after everything he has done to him?
maybe, the movie tries to make you see that not everything you feel is a worldwide experience. what i am trying to say is that i felt the best when he was spending more time with chang and the worst when he had to take care of ho po-wing, but he felt exactly the contrary. idk. i may be too young to fully understand its meaning. but the thing is that it has reached me. that ending with the song by the turtles. wong kar-wai is definitely a master of using pop songs correctly.
"i finally understood how he could be happy running around so free. it's because he has a place he can always return to" now i am going to bed, cause tonight is the three wise men's day in spain haha.
