WALL·E
Humanity is never meant to leave earth.. What a magical way to end off my Pixar marathon
This just might be the best directed Pixar movie, for a film with such a little amount of dialogue it somehow excels in basically every regard. Undoubtedly Andrew Stanton's boldest work to date. Even small details like how Wall-E moves, interacts and talks makes him feel so human.
Everything with Eve and Wall-E is absolutely beautiful. The movie is about humanity and they portray through a robot love story so well. (I still have no clue how Andrew is going to make Toy Story 5 work though).
This might also have the best use of a soundtrack out of every Pixar movie. Not only is Thomas Newman's score phenomenal (as always 🙄), but the addition of the 'hello dolly' musical in the soundtrack brings so much more humanity to this movie and supports the humanoid nature of Wall-E.
One complaint I often hear is that Auto is a boring villain.. I disagree STRONGLY if anything, I think the fact that he's just following his programming emphasizes how corrupt and lost the political side of humanity was, it supports the message quite well. I also really love how how they're presented through live action, works well when taken into the context of the movie.
That being said, the only reason why I'm not rating this 5 stars is because I don't see why Eve didn't take off the kill switch that they put on her. like bruh that kind of annoyed me😐. Still I love this movie, such a quirky concept yet so damn fantastic at the same time.
edit: on further thought, this movie is just too good not to give 5 stars. I can look past that one thing.
