Honestly, I saw my dad after I watching this for the first time. Like, literally, he is very much like him -- hides his misery all the time but makes the best moments when I’m with him. I realised that most dads just want to spend the best times with their children. “How come you and mom say ‘love you’? … You’re not together. So, why would you say it?” “Well… think of the people you say it to, like your Nana, grandad, uncle, aunties, right?” “Yeah, but they’re family.” “Well, your mother is family.” Those lines hit me the most. My parents are separated like Sophie’s, but my dad always asks me how my mom is doing, not just out of responsibility, but because he really cares. Every time he does, a tiny sunset lights up in my chest. I feel this is more like an appreciation for my dad. Nonetheless, I just love the films that I find relatable. This is a slow-paced film, which is not really my cuppa tea, yet it’s very worth the wait in the end. I love it.CommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the appSee all Anemoi's reviews for Aftersun (2)First watch10.0October 20, 2025Rewatch 110.0October 20, 2025
