it is so intimate, so emotionally-driven, so gut-wrenching. wow… where do i even start… omg. this movie doesnt just make you sit with the family and sulk in the most unbearable moments in silence, but forces you to LIVE IN IT. to grieve with them. agnes unraveling emotional turmoil is truly the heart of this film, and jessie buckley was PHENOMENAL. hands down one of the best performances i have ever seen in my life like please hand this woman her fucking oscar. the way she carries grief in her body, in her breath, in the spaces between her words… its so unreal😭😭😭 the last scene was breath-taking. i adore hamlet, but you dont even have to be familiar with it to feel the impact here. this is the type of movie that trusts the audience to feel without being told what to feel. for that i absolutely loved this quiet, painful, beautiful film.
