Fuck I forgot how special this film is. Truly one of the best and I’m glad I finally got round to rewatching so it can rightfully reclaim a spot in my heart.
As an ADHD riddled child with a special interest in birds of prey I would watch this film endlessly, likely blocking out the depressing parts lol, and I can honestly say rewatching it tonight was the first time I’ve felt pure childlike joy like that in years. The scenes with Billy flying Kes are just incredible. Perfection.
The ending still hits you in the gut like a ton of bricks even when you’re an adult and know what’s coming. Fuck Jud all the way to hell.
