Moonlight
Such a captivating story, even if I expected more was going to happen, it was perfect as it is. I love the pastel blue type of colour grading, it complemented very well with the pacing, narrative and the emotions that it was trying to portray. The acting was phenomenal, Janelle Monáe is amazing. I love how relatable the story can be to so many people, it can definitely be impactful for those who do relate. It's a bit slow but it's reasonable for it's dialogue. It's incredible how the main character embodies true strength from going through with his sad past, you can really tell he's a completely different person as an adult than when he's a teenager. I'm surprised how it didn't feel too dramatic or clique, it was just real and the perfect amount of everything. Barry Jenkins went from Moonlight or Mufasa, crazy. Sorry, I love La La Land (2016) but this film just hits different, definitely the Best Picture. I lowkey didn't expect the love story of the main character to be this type of love story, it's fine though. Moonlight is a visually stunning, powerful, beautiful masterpiece that'll make everyone adopt a runaway child
