The Thing
What an unbelievable movie to watch in a dark room with a snowstorm happening right outside. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it, and maybe I never will. It’s not just basic horror, it perfects everything it does, the effects are fantastic and I can’t get it through my head that they used zero CGI and it was all practical effects! The movie focuses on one thing, one vibe and “aesthetic” and they perfect it completely, I’ve never been this entranced while watching a horror movie. It’s hard to explain but everything that happened in the movie felt like it appealed exactly to me which is why it’s so special to me. It’s not just scary, the characters are believable, the story is very good and the acting is even better, the paranoia between the team and the distrust just pulls everything together and makes it the 5/5 it is. At the end, I only choose one word to describe this movie, and it’s timeless.
Also, bonus points for the poster being so gorgeous.
