Superman
Absolute cinema.
I love that the movie goes back to the basics of what it means to be Superman. To be kind and compassionate and do the best you can to be a good person. The movie wasn’t just about him fighting a monster that tests is physical strength, Lex Luther and the society that quickly turned against him made Superman figure out who he is and who he can continue to be despite his entire world view turning upside down and I thought that was beautiful. Being kind and good is a choice we get to make everyday and that’s the choice he made that makes him Superman. Also shoutout to that dumbass dog you’re so real.
Side note, I love the very obvious “hey this country is trying to invade another smaller less powerful country, this is bad and I must stop it, I don’t care that they are allied with Metropolis and say they are not going to commit genocide, we all know this is false. They are going to kill innocent people, and the fake semantics don’t and never will matter.” I wonder what this could possibly allude to. Anyways shoutout Superman you’ve made me a D.C. fan.
I also cried real tears multiple times during this movie which says something. Towards the end of the movie when the robots played the clip of his parents to comfort Superman and it was his ADOPTED PARENTS FROM KANSAS INSTEAD OF HIS BIRTH PARENTS. Sobbed like a fucking baby.
AND ALSO DID NO ONE CATCH THE PEACEMAKER CAMEO!?!?!? D.C. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN HIDING HIM???
