Black Swan

“The only person standing in your way is you.” the details in this movie blow me away every time. you can see how “babied” Nina is, from the color choices in her outfits- which make her stand out from the other ballerinas- to her room and stuffed animals, to the way she speaks. her mother feeds her, dresses her, clips her nails. she constantly hovers over Nina, making me feel claustrophobic just watching. and you can see Nina becoming frustrated with her lack of personal space as she grows more into her Black Swan persona. it’s beautiful and equally devastating as you realize Thomas was right when he said: “the white swan… in death, finds freedom.”
