always thought the story of the deathly hallows and the hunt of the horcruxes were so cool but hogwarts is one of my favourite things about harry potter and they didn’t even go there on this one

> *I know it’s been hard for you. I recognise myself in you.* > *But you’re so goddamn angry. It’s hard to love someone who’s so full of rage.* > *Right? You don’t want to be alone forever.* I genuinely believe that no matter what your relationship with you father’s like, this will hit for the eldest daughters. on nora’s side, we got to see how growing up with the kind of relationship she has had with her dad—or the lack thereof—affected every aspects of her life now. we even saw how differently it has affected her sister; *“**There’s one major difference in the way we grew up. I had you**.” *i instantly cried. on gustav’s side, we got to see not only how he was feeling behind his daughters but also his trauma, why he is the way he is, and not to justify his actions, but just to build context and empathy. i don’t think i’ve ever seen any of stellan’s films where he really ACTED like this and wow it hurt (complimentary). and the HOUSE, as someone who is still living in a house that’s been with my family since before my parents were even married, it just hit even harder. can’t help but think that the theme of this movie is quite like the the beautiful drama version of *Hereditary.** * the final scene was DIABOLICAL btw.* * lastly, it really got me thinking, if gustav was struggling with his past and making amends, and so he coped by doing the one thing he’s good at—filmmaking—then does this say anything about joachim trier?

compared to every other harry potter movies this one just felt quieter somehow, but so heavy… it felt the most character-driven, while still playing a very important role as the stepping stone for the deathly hallows this is possibly my least favourite one (definitely biased by my childhood perception) but i still love this one anyway and that’s just how much i love the franchise

> *Are you going to save my soul?* i think this is quite literally the most beautiful film my eyes have laid upon, though i signed up for beautiful visuals and somehow got slapped with emotional torture too 😭 every details were so well thought out, what an underrated movie already an insane experience by itself but watching this with my best friend made it even more memorable !!!
