Atonement

visually, it reminded me of call me by your name in the first act, but then it took a VERY depressing turn. i knew that it was gonna be devastating before i watched it, but i thought it was gonna be that for the couple. i didn’t expect it to be the biggest punishment for the sister.  how one decision can change the trajectory of multiple people’s lives. see, it’s not always about the most obvious kinds of punishment. she didn’t have to get ‘caught’ because it would haunt and eat her up for the rest of her life. ps does briony know she didnt have to keep the bob her entire life? pps i didnt know james mcavoy was fine like that
