Before Sunset
'96 ft. Linklater, Prem Kumar really loves this series man it's so evident in his movies. Anyways.
It's been a couple hours since I've watched this and it's been running on my mind. Like it felt so real. And the romantic tension and the intimacy between them is SO predominant. The way Jesse looks at her, and the way she looks at him while they were climbing the stairs at the very end. Ugh.
Okay maybe I feel this way cuz it's been so darn long since I've had an actual irl conversation with someone (that's not about college) and felt actual emotions for others, but maybe that's exactly why I enjoyed this one? And kind of believe in love and connections again?
Maybe?
Not like I've ever been in a relationship before or anything but everything just seems so fake and unnatural and materialistic. Even the movie goes over it esp when Celine gives a whole monologue about how men date her and get married to other people, that really summed up the idea of love that the majority have tbh. Not blaming them at all, but it just aches to see that the importance of building an actual connection with a partner is so low and so below the priority list, and having a partner for material aspects like sex and clout feels much more predominant.
And love really just feels like something we see in the movies. Or read about in books. Something that went extinct like it never even existed.
Man where even are we and what are we doing here
