Misery

Most normal Star Wars fan istg. Misery is an incredible tense and brilliantly crafted horror that is just that good. Kathy bates and James caan absolutely kill it here they both give just the best performances like ever. Kathy bates especially she was fucking frightening to watch. The direction is phenomenal all the scenes feel tense and like unpredictable but not in a way where it’s annoying and trying to hard yk. The framing of everything is just like the best  like the evil Annie scenes were just so well done, like the first one jumpscared me bro like goddamn. Or the first wheelchair sequence in the house cutting back to Annie and Paul was just brilliant. It’s also written really well, a fairly perfect screenplay imo like all the callbacks and checkovs guns were so goddamn satisfying to watch. The hobbling scene and honestly anny scene in this movie I find to be brilliantly written. Annie was obv like terrifying and shit but Paul also comes off as like real sympathetic which adds to the whole situation being even worse. The sheriff is my goat bro I love that guy fr. Everything just like flows honestly, like the dialogue is great Paul is trying to weasel and just survive while Annie is clearly fucking nuts and an immensely fun watch. It’s also shot pretty well, I mean it’s nothing crazy but like I enjoyed how it looked the lighting lends itself to the film alot. This one deadass feels like writing a bitch ass web Dubois and booker t Washington essay in history class.
