Oldboy

Bro what the fuck. Oldboy is an unforgettable brilliantly directed disturbing disgusting mystery thriller that doesn’t keep you guessing per se but still makes its reveals as insane as any other mystery. The direction here is acc nutso it brings so much style and character to each and every scene that last flashback might be one of my favorite scenes in cinema ever up there w the pianist pianist scene. Acc all the flashback scenes were cool like the way it cut back to the present inside the memory like they were reliving it all again, so cool. And the hallway scene is so well known for a reason. It’s almost like Edgar wright if he was evil id say just so much cooool and emotional weight. The acc mystery as well is pretty good again it’s def not like a typical mystery w red herrings and allat but it all comes together in a classic whodunit style if that makes sense. And my god that reveal genuinely gave me chills like what the fuck. The characters were also really well done woo Jin made for an incredibly captivating and interesting villain and dae su a sympathetic and deep protagonist. This one feels like playing truth or dare but it goes WAY too far and it isn’t fun anymore.
