The Thing

Amongus fr. The thing is a realistically perfect paranoia inducing horror mystery imo. Th effects are stunning, like genuinely amazing. For 1980 something like they really paved the way for the substance and like everything ig. It’s all practical as well which just added so much charm to it all. All the monsters were all terrifying and beautiful it was really special. It’s also like brilliantly directed and written like the descent to madness is so believable and incredibly tense. Like the blood scene or the entire ending sequence were just like incredibly well done jsut so tense and cool. All the paranoia is so believable bc this one does something really cool and leaves a lot of shit ambiguous making things like a gazillion times more complicated. And the like ways they try and test who’s the imposter were really cool like it’s pretty smart from all the characters and makes the monster way cooler. Like it’s not just this ambiguous monster it’s a fucking thing a thing dude! It’s like an intelligent beast bro. Like a really smart one as well it’s so interesting. I love me an ensemble movie but th characters weren’t like developed much but it’s fine bc the monster is too entertaining to watch and it plying with this small crew is a good replacement for character development. It’s also like a really cool looking movie like it makes the arctic look really cool. The fire was cool pretty decent contrast. Like really well lit I love the blues and whites. Kurt Russel is cool as shit and Keith David does not look or sound like Keith David. This one feels like plying among us fr
