Incendies
I had to watch this twice in 2 days - I can't stop thinking about it.
I mean, I had really high expectations for this film, and I was somehow still blown away. This is definitely one of those select films you watch in your life.
There is so much this talks about - it's such a chilling capsule about the dynamics of evil/love, the seeping traces of trauma and war, and the sacred, almost obligatory path of truth one takes.
The twist is ruthless, oh my word, how does someone even come up with that idea in the first place? But wow, it's an unbelievable act that hoists this film from great to the greatest I've ever watched. I think everyone should watch this film once in their life.
And it's films like these that make you think: Fear not the unknown, nor the occult, nor death itself, for man is man's greatest foe.
