Il Mare
It's probably one of the least biased reviews I’ve written, mainly because I had no idea what it was about and never looked at any ratings - which I usually do.
I wouldn’t normally choose a film like this - romance with a fantasy twist, but I’m so glad I did. It’s atmospheric, carries real emotional weight, and I love how little dialogue there is, with so much of the story told through the letters.
It’s probably my favourite in its genre. The timeline can be confusing or even illogical at times, but once you understand how time works in the film, it becomes even better. For me it's the kind of film that lingers long after it ends, and it’s earned a place among my all time favourites.
