The Menu
This movie definitely deserves one of my “longer” reviews since it is one of my many 10/10s
The plotAbsolutely love the idea of an island getaway for rich people to enjoy their fancy restaurant with “intellectual exercises” and the head chef has had enough with his clientele.
CharactersI mean every table has wonderful crafted characters who all have their own moments to shine from “you told them it’s my birthday” to “did he just quote Dr King”. The different menu items brought with title cards leading to Tyler’s Bullshit is why I love this movie. It takes itself so seriously in the parts that matter to me and knows when to either pull the punches or punch even harder, if that’s with social criticisms or comedic moments. Like the dishes could have been some ridiculous shit that is making fun of those kind of meals but no, these are actually well crafted and I’m SO SO glad Dominique Crenn was in this project, don’t think it would be the movie it is without her.
Ralph Fiennes, holy shit, peak man. One of my favorite villains
The finale, the burger?!? The final monologue AHHHHHH I LOVE IT, INJECT IT IN MEEEEthat burger looks like the best thing in the world
