Sinners

I went into this knowing that the soundtrack and cast would not disappoint but I wasn’t expecting a fun new take on vampires. Yeah there were some ridiculous moments but overall they were scary, sexy, and dripping in subtext a vampire story should always have. (Literally sucking the life out of a culture through music, forced assimilation.) Also, the nosferatu claw! Love it.  That one dance number was thrilling. I will say it could’ve leaned into the horror rather than the action/adventure genre a bit more (especially with some of the heavier subject matter) but who am I to complain, I had a blast watching it.
