Before Midnight
"If you want love, then this is it. This is real life. It's not perfect but it's real."
Instead of the deeply romantic, dream-like walks in Vienna , this film is the exact opposite, Before Midnight is all about realism. This breathtaking film is defined by responsibility, honesty, and sincerity.
Before Midnight which is the end of the trilogy, it feels so long and lazy to keep up for me, it isn't as charming as before, unlike in Before Sunset where i could not take my eyes off from their smiles and talks. I guess just didn't feel as excited after figuring out they were back together. It's like im being numb, and it even being hopeless after the debate scene, feels like i don't even care anymore where they relationship will going.
Overall, this film still i consider five star rated, the execution it is perfection, i could not think of any other ending to replace this one. It feels they want to leave, but a glimpse of that night in Vienna passing through again is like a falling star in a clear sky. This is my the best trilogy i ever watch, big applause for director himself Richard Linklater, especially since this film based on his own love story.
