Insomnia
"He who sins, does not sleep."
Insomnia is all about obsession and guilt. The main characters behave similarity with The Narrator from Fight Club(1999). With its rough editing and protagonist's behavior, the film often shows a brightness spike blinding your screen that feels like flashbang. This happens in some intense/stressful scenes and represents his point of view that wakes him from his tiredness. It portrays Stellan Skarsgard screaming 'let me sleep' in my ear, even tho he barely talks.
You can feel his lack of sleep, both physically and mentally. This is the point when 'Insomnia' makes the audience insomnia aswell. The film tries to emulate an exhausted atmosphere, and by the end, Insomnia makes you feel fatigued just like the protagonist. Lucky i am to have watched the original film first before the remake, and of course Nolan Insomnia(2002) remake next!!.
