Basic Instinct

Now having seen Basic Instinct three times and once on the big screen, I hate the final shot a little bit less--more accurate to say I dislike it as opposed to despising it. There is a 25-minute stretch at the end where the movie desperately tries to convince you that Beth was the killer. Still: the other 90 minutes make it so clear that Catherine is--at a minimum--a viable suspect. The door was unlocked the whole time! So still wholly unnecessary to cut to the ice pick (particularly with the music playing underneath), but doesn't quite ruin the movie for me.
