My first time watching this since like 2011, and also my first time watching it all the way through. I’ve been a staunch Avatar hater for all this time. After watching it now, I regret to inform you that it actually fucking rules. Looks great, score us unreal, and it’s a paint by numbers story. Easy to follow, easy to cling to. It’s clear this is Cameron’s true passion. The little drops of lore and history of Pandora paint such a great picture to accompany the stunning visuals. Sure it’s cultural impact is sort of a joke, but I totally get the reason he wants to keep building this world out. Definitely looking forward to getting into an IMAX soon to see the sequel.
